OUR LOVING GOD
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. —I John 4:14-16
Have you come to the point of believing that God truly loves you? He loves you! How exciting is that? How wonderful is that? The Creator and Sustainer of all things knows all about you and me and He still loves us! “We love because he first loved us” (I John 4:19). Bask in His love!
It is out of our love for God that we “testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” It is knowing in His love for us that “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2). “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters” (I John 3:16). Because of God’s love for us, we love others and want to share the good news with them that they too can understand the love that God has for them.
Those who love Him will stay connected with Him; will abide in Him. How wonderful that we can have fellowship with our Lord God Almighty at any time. He is always there for us. May we spend that time with Him, enjoying His love for us and seeking to be and do what honors Him.
