NOT JUST WORDS SAID, BUT EVIDENCED BY A LIFE LIVED

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. —James 3:13

            Who do you know that fits this description?  Who are the wise that you know?  Who are those that have understanding that you know?  Who that you know bears evidence of possessing these characteristics by the “good life” they are living?  Are they, through wisdom, being humble?  These are the people to be around and learn from.  They are the examples to follow.

            People can say they are wise.  They can say they have understanding.  They can say they are living the “good life.”  They can say they are doing good deeds that comes from wisdom.  But is this true by the evidence in their lives… really?  Just because a person says this is true of themselves does not make it true.  Saying words does not mean it is a reality in their lives.  It is the application of God’s Word that is the reality.  It is not just reading God’s Word or speaking about God’s Word, it is putting it into practice and being accountable to others in that process.

            Accountability comes when real life is observed.  Accountability takes place when a person is observed in various situations as to how they apply God’s Word to that situation.  Now none do this perfectly, but there ought to be consistency in the lives of those who are followers of Jesus.  May our lives prove we are truly His by the way we live.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious Son, Jesus, for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLX83HbefrI
