FAITH WORKS AND WORKS GIVE EVIDENCE TO FAITH

FAITH WORKS AND WORKS GIVE EVIDENCE TO FAITH

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? —James 2:14

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. —James 2:17

For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. —James 2:26

Fellow follower of Jesus, “we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).  So, a person who says they have faith in Jesus should also be active in the work that God has created them in Jesus to do.  So, the question is— Are you actively involved in the work that God has for you?  Do you know what that work is?  And the work that you are doing, is it because of faith in the Father and His Son and by His Holy Spirit?

A person can say anything they want, but that does not make it true.  What proves that it is true is the application of what they are saying.  I can say I am a doctor, carpenter, baker, nurse… but it is the evidence of working in those area which proves what I say.  So it is with those who say they are followers of Jesus.  There will be evidence in their lives by the work they do which proves they are followers of Jesus.  But it is not just the work they are doing.  It is the work they are doing which flows out their faith and love for God and for people.

If I say I am a follower of Jesus, but I am not involved in the work of Jesus, am I really a follower of Jesus?  If I say I really love God but am not involved in the work God has for me, do I really love God?  If I say I love people, but am focused only on myself, do I really love people as God does? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAN5ObaRQg Is faith alive or dead in you?  Are their evidences that faith is alive in you?  May it be so!

Dear Father I truly love You and I seek to serve You in Jesus with the work You have for me to do.  May I do so out of that love for You and in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Beloved Son, Jesus, whom I love.  May it be so!
