PRAY FOR PEACE AND PROSPERITY WHERE WE LIVE

PRAY FOR PEACE AND PROSPERITY WHERE WE LIVE

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” —Jeremiah 29:7

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” —Jeremiah 29:11

Ask now, and see, can a man bear a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor? Why has every face turned pale? —Jeremiah 30:6

If ever our nation needs prayer, it is now!  As we “seek the peace and prosperity” where we live the outcome is that we too will experience that peace and prosperity.  Our Lord’s desire it to prosper His people and not destroy them.  His plans for us gives us “hope and a future.”  Our Lord God Almighty always has our best interest in mind.

Oh, do we ever need prayer! We live in a bizarre time. Who would have ever believed, years ago, that people would actually be saying that a man could have a child, that a man could become pregnant?  “Ask now, and see, can a man bear a child?”  In the context above the answer would from our Lord is “absolutely not.”  Yet we have such perverted thinking, satanic thinking, and so many need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26).

Regardless of how our culture and nation goes, let us “seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”  Prayer for the place we live will have an impact on ourselves as well.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. —I Timothy 2:1-4

Brothers and sisters, beloved followers of our Lord Jesus, let us be praying and seeking the peace and prosperity of the places we live.  It will go well with us as well.

Yes, Dear Father, be pleased to do something new in our land that peace and prosperity would prevail.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsQmsEE_2-s
