I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. —Isaiah 65:1

I did not ask for the Lord but He was ready for me to seek Him.  I was not seeking after the Lord, but He was ready for me to find Him.  How did I come to the point of being ready to seek Him?  It was He who made me ready— “”No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44).  How did I come to the point of asking for Him?  It was God “who said, “Let light shine out of darkness, “made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6).  He revealed Himself to me.

How did all this happen?  I picked up my roommates New Testament and read it— “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).  “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).  Why did I pick up that New Testament and read it?  It was because people were praying for me— First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (I Timothy 2:1-4).  He drew me to His Word through the prayers of His people.

There are so many around us that do not know our Lord.  How will they come to the point of asking for our Lord and seeking our Lord?  It is through prayer.  Are you and I faithfully praying for our lost loved ones, friends, neighbors and even for those we don’t know, but will come into contact with?  Did you pray for them today?  Will you pray for them today?  May it be so that they too can be His! Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So be it!
