STANDING BY FAITH!
If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all. —Isaiah 7:9
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined. —Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 4:16
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods. —Galatians 4:8
Faith/trust in our Lord God Almighty will cause us to stand firm— “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). We need to do this to “stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11) and we are not to be “unaware of his schemes” (II Corinthians 2:11). If you do not have faith/trust in God, they you will not stand at all when the devil’s schemes come against you.
When we did not know God, have faith in God, trust God, we were “were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods.” But now all those who have been redeemed by God, that do know God, have faith in God, trust God, have received “adoption as sons.” We are not part of King Jesus’ kingdom that will never end. Kings and kingdoms, rulers and nations of this world will all pass away, but the kingdom we belong to will last forever and ever. AMEN!
No longer are we in darkness. Those who have called on Jesus now have Him as “the light of life” and those who follow Him “will never walk in darkness” (John 8:12). The truth and light we have in God’s Word will reveal the lies of this world’s darkness. We will be better equipped to understand the lies and deception that is all around us and instead we can walk and live in what is true, honest and pleasing to God. Yes, dear brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus may God help us to do so by the power of His Holy Spirit and in the authority of His precious, beloved Son Jesus.
