GOD’S WRATH

GOD’S WRATH

“The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him, and the power of his wrath is against all who forsake him.” —Ezra 8:22

So we have two groups according to this verse.  Those who seek the Lord God Almighty and want to live for Him is one group.  The 2nd group is those who forsake the Lord God Almighty and do not want to live for Him.  God’s good hand is on those who seek Him.  But on those who forsake Him His wrath is against them— “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them” (John 3:36).  That is not a good place to be!  But for the one following the Lord we are told that Jesus will be with them to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20) and that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them” (Romans 1:18).  How is God’s wrath being revealed?  As you read the rest of Romans chapter one you will see how.  Three times we are told that “God gave them over” (Romans 1:24, 26, 28).

Those who are against God will experience His anger, wrath, passion, punishment and vengeance.  How does that happen according to v18 to the end of chapter one?  He lets people go  to do what they want.  When He does that then people act on the sinful desires of their heart.  They degrade their bodies with each other.  We surely see this today with all the sexual perversions.  They worship the creation.  Again, we see this today with the extreme environmental climate change religious cult.  Homosexuality becomes prominent among men and women and we are told that they “received in themselves the due penalty for their error” (Romans 1:27).  Next their minds become depraved so they do things that should not be done.  In all this they think they are wise, but God said that they are fools (Romans 1:22).  They become filled with every kind of wickedness and “approve of those who practice them” (Romans 1:32).  Does this sound like our present culture here in the United States?  I think so… which means we are experiencing God’s wrath to some degree… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHLh3FrD8Vg  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=137s
