REMEMBER!
REMEMBER!
And the people of Israel did not remember the LORD their God, who had delivered them from the hand of all their enemies on every side. —Judges 8:34
“This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. —I Corinthians 11:24-26
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. —II Timothy 1:6
So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. —II Peter 1:12
But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. —II Peter 1:9
Memory… remember… don’t just live in the present, but remember the past. The past is the foundation for the present and future. I need to remember what my Lord has done in the past to be encouraged in the present and in the future. If I do not remember and just focus on the present I could be discouraged when the times are difficult or be proud when the times are good.
I need to remember—
- It was He who delivered me and saved me.
- It was only through His death and resurrection that I am saved.
- It is because of what He has done in my life that I look to His coming.
- It is because of Him that I can flame up the gift He has given me.
- It is because of Him that I can mature in godly character.
- It is because of Him that I need not be nearsighted and blind.
- It is because of Him that I have been cleansed from past sins.

Yes Dear Father may I remember Your faithfulness in the past so I will live faithfully in the present and in the future. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
