Where our Lord sends us He goes with us. What our Lord wants us to do He does with us. The resources we need to be and do what He desires He provides. We are to “run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2). This race of life has been already marked out for us. We need to run this race prepared for us and we need to run it with perseverance. He has given us and will give us all we need to complete this race. We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, not on circumstances, not on people, but on Jesus. He will keep us running, utilizing all the resources He provides along the way. Keep running. Keep trusting. Keep persevering. Keep your focus on Jesus. You will lack nothing…
Perspective… don’t lose it! We lose it when we do not focus on what God says in His Word— His love letter to us. We lose it when we do not keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Are you in His Word? Are you listening to what He has to say? Are you putting into practice what He is telling you? Or are you focused on and distracted by the circumstances that surround you? Are you lacking perseverance because of people that surround you? Well, make the adjustments! Be and do what God desires and not what the circumstances or other people seek to mold you into.
Make sure that your love for God is top priority and that you love people according to how He desires you to. Then be a witness to others and seek to make disciples as he has commanded us. These are basic focuses of one who is truly following Jesus. A disciple of Jesus will desire to make other disciples (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:16-20; Matthew 24:14). He has promised to provide for all our needs to resource us to accomplish His will. We can say with the disciples as He sent them— “We lacked nothing!” God has given you what you need and He will give you what you need to be and do His desire for the rest of the race marked out for you. Will you be and do what He desires? You will lack nothing needed!
Thank You dear Father that You will provide all that I need to run this race You have marked out for me. May I trust You all along this race and keep my eyes focused on Jesus.
