FAMILY TRAIT— DOING GOD’S WILL!
FAMILY TRAIT— DOING GOD’S WILL!
Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother. —Mark 3:35
Doing God’s will bears evidence that we are part of the family of God. Of course “it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” But the evidence of that salvation is that “we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:8-10). God’s will will work the works of God— “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work” (John 4:34). The desires of Jesus will be His families’ desires as well. He who “gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds” (Titus 3:14). Are we “family” according to how Jesus defined family— doing God’s will? That is the result of salvation— the fruit of salvation. So… are you family? May it be so!
Dear Father may I seek to be faithful in knowing and doing Your will. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6kOkIJV-0M
