IT IS YOU!

IT IS YOU!

Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. —Exodus 1:8

One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. —Exodus 2:11

During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.—Exodus 2:2

God said to Moses, “I am who I am. c This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ” —Exodus 3:14

Those who are ignorant of history or neglect it will not know or understand the lessons learn that would guide them in decisions in the present.  This new king in Egypt would not have the same nation to rule over, or even a nation, if it were not for our Lord working through Joseph.  It was the wisdom and revelation God gave to Joseph that guided the nation of Egypt through a very difficult time of famine.  Now this new king had no idea of the history of the Israelites, didn’t care about their history or just neglected the history.  This would lead him to make some very bad choices.

The king feared the Israelites because they had grown in such number.  He was afraid that they would rebel and collude with the enemy against Egypt.  So he put them into hard labor and when Moses went out among his people, being the “adopted” son of Pharaoh’s daughter, and saw an Egyptian beating a fellow Israelite he got angry and killed the Egyptian.  It was found out and he fled to Midian.

The king of Egypt died and God heard the cry of the Israelites as they groaned in their slavery.  They cried out to God for help and God answered by sending Moses back to Egypt to bring out the Israelites from that nation.  Forty years had passed since Moses fled.

God rises up people at the right time— for such a time is this.  Who is He raising up today— for such a time as this— to do His will?  It is you and I.  Will we be and do what He desires.  Even though the history of God’s Word or the American founding may not be remembered, our Lord God Almighty has you and me who know it to serve Him in this time.  May we be faithful to what He desires us to be and what He desires to do in and through our lives.  Yes, Dear Father may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu2S9y3r0XE
