WE NEED OTHERS IN THE BODY OF CHRIST!

But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. —Hebrews 3:13

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.  But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.  Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.  But how can one keep warm alone?  Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. —Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

We need each other in the Body of Christ, His Church.  “Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.  A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion (Proverbs 18:1-2).  Isolating oneself is a dangerous place to be for one who claims to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  If you are being a loner they you are already in danger.  In that situation one’s heart seeks its own desires, doesn’t listen to others and desires only to express their own opinion.  This is where one can become “hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”  Don’t excuse it away to justify yourself!

Those who have truly trusted Jesus are members of His Body and as members we belong to each other (12:5). Yes, two are better than one and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken, but woe to him who is alone.  This illustrates the principle— While in Kenya a number of times I notice that runners run in packs and not by themselves.  Here in the U.S. we see people so often running by themselves.  It is much more encouraging to run with others.  There is also protection running in a pack and great fellowship.  We in the Body of Christ, His Church, are not to be running alone.  We need to be running with others who love Him.  Are you running alone or in a pack?  Who are you running with?  If you are running alone you are in danger if you claim to be a follower of Jesus.  Find someone or a group to run with and you need to be part of a local Church, His Body to run with.  If you are thinking you don’t need others then you are being disobedient to what God says and Proverbs 18:1-2 is where you are— especially if you do not receive exhortation.  Sin is deceiving you.  Repent and be obedient to Him… if you truly love Him.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6kOkIJV-0M

Dear Father I am so grateful to run with others who desire to run the race You have marked out for us.  As Your children let us run in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  May we encourage each other and look out for each other.  Yes, Father, may this be so!  May we run hard together!
