SERVE OUT OF LOVE FOR GOD AND PEOPLE!

SERVE OUT OF LOVE FOR GOD AND PEOPLE!

Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. —Romans 12:13

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. —Galatians 6:10

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? —James 2:15-16

Are you contributing “to the needs of the saints?”  Do you “seek to show hospitality?”  We are called to do so.  We are to “do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”  If there is a saint in need that we know of and can help meet that need, we should.  Local churches should be aware of the needs among the saints there.  This is the first priority and then we can help others not in the body of Christ.  This is the responsibility our Lord has given us.  We are to take care of each other.

“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?”  Well we know the answer to that.  It is not good at all!  To see a need and then tell the person to “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed” when they have no opportunity to do so is a terrible statement and action.  So what good are you and I doing in helping those with physical needs?  Oh, that we would be like the Good Samaritan and not like the others who just walked on by when they say a need (Luke 10:25-37).  Instead let us be merciful.  Jesus said, “God and do likewise” in showing mercy to others, helping others.  May we do so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, please help me to see the need today that I can help with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6U8O_WnPZY   Who will you help?
