Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed…” —Luke 2:34-35

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. —Hebrews 4:12

Light, whether it is the Word who became flesh or the written or spoken Word of God, exposes the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. So let us check that with you. What are your thoughts and attitudes about Jesus? What are your thoughts and attitudes about the Word of God, whether written or spoken? Your answer reveals your thoughts and attitudes of your heart.

Your answer truly gives an indication of whether you are for or against Jesus. Your answer also gives indication as to your eternal destiny at this present time.   That destiny hinges on your heart’s thoughts and attitudes toward Jesus. I am not just talking about saying words. I am talking about living a life that seeks to honor our Lord Jesus.   Anybody can say words. Anybody can go to a “church” building, but that does not make me a follower of Jesus any more than standing on a used car parking lot makes me a used car. But who are you… really? Your thoughts and attitudes of your heart toward Jesus and His Word gives that answer.   May you be for Him and not against Him. Your eternal destiny depends upon it.

Thank You Dear Father for Jesus, the Word made flesh, and thank You also for giving us Your Word in written and audio form. Oh, Precious Word may I seek to be faithful in following what You say. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So be it!
