THE FINISH LINE OF THIS LIFE IS APPROACHING!
For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be. —Mark 13:19
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. —Mark 13:24-27
But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. —Mark 13:32
We do not know the day or the hour when Jesus will come back, but we surely are getting closer. One thing that we can be sure of is that just before His coming things are going to be the worst they have ever been on this planet—“ there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.”
Yes, Jesus is coming one day and “then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” When that time comes the stellar bodies “in the heavens will be shaken.”
“I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?” —Revelation 6:12-17
Brother and sister, whether we die first or Jesus comes back in our lifetime— we will see Jesus and be with Him forever along with all those who love Him. Wherever the race He has marked out for us takes us or whatever it includes, we are to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the one who marked out the race for us and expects us to finish it (Hebrews 12:1-2). So do not be discouraged at the difficulty of the race at times. Keep focusing on Jesus. There are purposes that we do not understand taking place through the good and bad times we experience in this fallen world so harshly affected by sin.
