And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” —Mark 7:18:23

Jesus makes it clear that food does not defile a person.  By what He said He declared all foods clean.  Obviously we need to be wise in food preparation, but as followers of Jesus no food is forbidden to eat.  Although there are some I may choose not to eat!

Jesus then went on to say it is what comes out of a person that defiles the person.  Who a person is on the inside is who the person really is.  It is those things that come from inside an individual are what defile an individual.

So who are you?  What is coming out of your heart consistently?  What are your thoughts?  What are your actions?  What are your desires and hopes?  What do you daydream about?  This is who you really are.

God knows everything about you.  He knows your thoughts and your very intentions and motives— “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13).  Yes, you and I will be held accountable to the Lord God Almighty.  He knows who we really are and what we really stand for.  NOTHING…NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM HIM!

May you and I seek to be more like our Lord Jesus.  Oh may that be our desire!  Yes, dear Father please help me to be more like my Lord in thought, word and deed.  Oh yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus— all for Your honor and glory!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlSmG-_eJTU
