UNDERSTAND!

 Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish. —Psalm 49:20

             Someone has said, “When you die you die like a dog. You are thrown in the ground and that is it. There is nothing after death.” So it is with those who deny God. They are “like the beasts that perish.” For those without understanding there is no hope beyond the grave. They are like a dumb animal that does not understand.

            With this fatalistic attitude unbelieving men live for today and hope for tomorrow. That is all they have. With no hope beyond the grave their philosophy is— “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”  Their short-sighted disbelieving heart is all about getting the most out of life for themselves. It is a selfish and self-centered life.

            Fellow follower of Jesus we have understanding. We know what is after death. God’s Word is clear. All men will go to one of two places— heaven or hell. Praise God for understanding, knowing and trusting our Lord Jesus because we can live for Him now and be with Him in heaven when we die.   I am so glad we understand this.   But to those who do not understand, do not know Jesus and are not trusting Him then their destiny at this moment is hell.
