GOD LETTING GO…
Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished? —Jeremiah 49:7
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. —Psalm 24:4
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity… For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions… And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done… —Romans 1:24, 26, 28
As I ponder these Words of God this morning I cannot help but think of where we are as a nation. Has good and godly counsel perished from those who are leading this country? Has their wisdom vanished? It truly appears so. Where are those with “clean hands and a pure heart?” Where are those who are being and doing what is honest and have integrity? Recklessness and foolishness seems to abound. Dishonesty and deception are rampant. A nation like this is on the verge of self-destruction.
How does self-destruction occur? God releases His hand of protection and guidance and gives a nation up to the lusts of their hearts, dishonorable passions and to debased minds. So do not be surprised at what is happening in our nation. If a nation does not want to follow God then at some point He will let them go their own way and it will not be positive. This is so obvious in our nation as “what not to be done” is happening more and more. It appears God is releasing us. If we do not recognize this and turn to Him then we will experience self-destruction as a nation.
Does this sound like our nation?
For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. —Romans 1:26-32
Our nation is taking on these evil characteristics more and more…

Dear Father may we come to our senses as a nation and understand Who You are, who we are and our need for You. May we repent of our wickedness and turn to You. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
