THERE IS NONE LIKE OUR LORD!

 There is none like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might. —Jeremiah 10:6

 But if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, declares the LORD.” —Jeremiah 12:17

            Simply put— there is none like our Lord. Nobody even comes close. All are so distant from who He is. Not only is He great, but His very Name is great! This is simply a fact.             People, kings and nations do not want to ackowledge Him, but want to make a great name for themselves. This has been the motivation of mankind from the earliest of times— “Come,” they said, “let us build for ourselves a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of all the earth.”  Yes, rebellious mankind is all about building a name for themselves and not bringing honor and glory to the Creator and Sustainer of all life and the universe.

            Here is the warning. It was not just warning to nations when these verses above were written, but a warning to any nation at any time. This is a declaration from our Lord that all nations should heed. Don’t want to listen to Him then beware of the destruction that will follow. That destruction can be external from another nation or it can be an internal rot of self-destruction.

            With the present state of America there could be both an external infiltration of a nation or nations that seek its destruction as well as an internal rot of rebelliousness. Without repentance and a calling upon His Great Name the United States of America will no longer be United. Think this is not the case? Then you have not been keeping an eye on the multi factors of impending downfall. We need to seek Him in prayer and repentance as a nation but that starts with local bodies of believers, local churches— will church repent and wake up? Let us pray this will be so. Regardless of how this nation goes the church is still the church and is to be and be about His desires. Brother and sister let us honor His Great Name!

Dear Father as in history may Your Holy Spirit bring conviction of sin and repentance here in the U.S. May You start with Your church! Oh, that You would extend more of Your mercy and grace to move people to be faithful to You.   Surely we do not deserve this, but may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus Your Son.
