HIS MAJESTY!
HIS MAJESTY!
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! —Psalm 8
Look how grand and awesome our Lord is in the earth. Consider His design of plants and animals— what wonder! —
The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters” (Psalm 24:1-2).
Look at His grandeur in the heavens—
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. Without speech or language, without a sound to be heard, their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4).
When we ponder both the earth and the heavens we are astounded by their design, their complexity and their beauty. Our Lord surely is majestic and His majesty is seen all around us through His creative hand. He is so awesome, so immense and yet He is mindful of this little planet and our little selves! Not only is He mindful over us but He has given us dominion over this planet. We will answer to Him as to how we carried out that responsibility! Let us be faithful to Him!
We have no excuse for not believing in Him and following Him— “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).
Dear Father as I look around at the trees, the flowers, the bees, the birds and beasts of the field I am overwhelmed with Your Majesty. You are so grand. Now may I faithfully be about the desires You have for me and may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nig-WNo0YE8
