It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage. —Jude 1:14-16

            There will be a generation living that will see the return of our Lord Jesus Christ to this earth. It will not be for salvation the next time. It will not be as a Lamb the next time. The first time He came as a Lamb to be a sacrifice for our sins that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 1:29; 3:16; 20:30-31). The next time He is coming as a Lion to execute judgment. None will escape.

            Jesus will return one day and all the angels with Him. He will then execute judgment. Although today every single person who “believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed” (John 3:18-20). Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. —Revelation 2:11-15

            You don’t want to be in that scene. It is an eternal judgment. An existence forever that is truly hard to comprehend and originally “the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). But for those who trust Jesus He says, “”Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world” (John 17:24). Those are the two destinies— heaven or hell— and your destiny depends on whether you have trusted Jesus or not.

I thank You dear Father that I will be with Jesus one day. May I encourage others to trust Him, live for Him and so be with Him one day as well. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. May it be so!
