God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. —Hebrews 6:10-12

Continue to help God’s people. Continue to love Him by helping His people. He will not forget your work. God is a just God. Persevere right to the end of life. Our hope will be realized. We are not to be lazy. Let us “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”

How are we showing our love for God by helping His people? How are we serving Him? Let us do so for the rest of our lives. One day we will finish the race and we will be with Jesus. Oh what a grand day that will be which the Apostle Paul says “is better by far” (Philippians 1:23). Yes, it is far better “to depart and be with Christ” than to be here.   But He has us here to encourage other believers in their “progress and joy in the faith.” So, brothers and sisters, let us seek to be about His business while we are here for His honor and glory. May it be so.

Dear Father my desire is to be faithful to You and to do Your will. I seem to fail too often at this, but my desire is to faithfully serve You. I so look forward to this race being over and to be with You. May I be faithful to You until then in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it.
