BLAMELESS AND UPRIGHT!
BLAMELESS AND UPRIGHT!
“Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” —Job 1:8
“Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” —Job 2:3
To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
—Proverbs 8:13
Every time I read these verses in Job I wonder what God says about me. God said about Job “that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Not only once did God say this, but He said it twice of Job! Wow… this is how God described Job. How does He describe me?
I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. —I Corinthians 1:4-9
The only way we can be fully blameless is through our Lord Jesus Christ who makes us blameless and keeps us so that we will be blameless. Out of the gratitude of our hearts we live for Him. We love Him and desire to obey and serve Him because He first loved us (I John 4:19). We have been made righteous by Him (Romans 5:9). He has made us accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6).
So let us be like Job and “turn away from evil.” Let us hate evil and live “blameless and upright” as God said about Job. Oh dear Father may this be true in my own life. Out of love for You may I live faithfully according to Your purposes and desires. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tShfne7Lh9s
