DEATH’S HOUR WILL COME
DEATH’S HOUR WILL COME
So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. —John 7:30
God knows the length of our days (Psalm 39:4). He knows when we will draw our last breath. We will not die without His determinate time (Deuteronomy 34:5; Luke 12:20). So it was with Jesus. He would not died on the cross until the predetermined time of God (Acts 2:23). But then there would come a time when “Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father” (John 13:1).
So it is with us. God has an appointment with death for us — “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). So “let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2). Jesus is the author of our faith and the finisher of our faith. This race He has marked out for us has a beginning and an end— “Enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:21). May we be faith to Him to the end of our race.
Listen, you and I are going to die unless we are part of that generation alive when Jesus comes back and not experience death! But if Jesus does not come back in our lifetime then we will pass over the threshold of death into His presence. Yes, one day our hour will come that we die. Let us live in such a way for our Lord Jesus that when we see Him we would hear these words from Him— “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Yes Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPz4puhikLM
