BREAD OF LIFE— BREAD OF HEAVEN

BREAD OF LIFE— BREAD OF HEAVEN

This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”—John 6:58

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life—John 6:63

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” —John 6:68-69

In those days Hezekiah became sick and was at the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die… —II Kings 20:1

For great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.—II Kings 22:13

But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Regarding the words that you have heard, because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the LORD… —II Kings 22:18-19

Jesus “is the bread that came down from heaven.” Those who just focus on temporary food alone do not have life but are dead (Ephesians 2:1-10). “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). Let us listen to what God’s Word is saying to us and be obedient to it.   The Spirit of God is given to those who call on the Name of the Lord for salvation (Ephesians John 7:39; 1:13-14) and He is the seal on our life that we are God’s (I John 3:24).

Except for that generation that is alive when Jesus comes back, we are all going to die. King Hezekiah was at the point of death and he was told by the Lord to “Set your house in order, for you shall die.” He had an idea of when he was going to die, even when the Lord extended his life he was told it would be for 15 more years. How many years do we have left? Is our house in order?

We need to have penitent and humble hearts as Josiah did when he heard the Word of God. He knew they were in disobedience and wanted to do what was right.   How about you? Call on Jesus, the Bread of Life, for salvation and the Holy Spirit of God will give you the ability to live for Him. We will die and need to make sure our “house is in order.”   The first thing for us is to make sure we are in relationship with Jesus and are living for Him. Only the Lord knows the exact number of our days. Let us be obedient to Him with penitent and humble hearts and live for the Bread of Heaven. There is no one else with the Words of eternal life. Jesus is the only way (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNjbPPrf6DQ

Dear Father may I live for Jesus with the rest of the days You have for me on this planet. Oh that this would be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
