FEAR’S PERMEATION
Then the officers shall speak further to the army, saying, “Is any man afraid or fainthearted? Let him return home, so that the hearts of his brothers will not melt like his own.” —Deuteronomy 20:8
Isn’t it interesting that when going to battle those who were afraid or fainthearted were allowed to go home. This was because they could be a negative influence and so “the hearts of his brothers will not melt like his own.” It is interesting how the fearful and fainthearted can be a negative, permeating influence on others.
The same is true today. Just as “a little leaven works through the whole batch of dough” so the fearful and fainthearted can have a permeating influence within a local church. One area where this is clearly seen today is in the area of evangelism. Fear is the permeating influence that causes the majority of a local church not to share Jesus with others.
Fear will keep us from sharing the good news with a person that is heading to hell… https://youtu.be/gT8l0xoZkXI?t=954
Will I let fear today keep me from sharing Jesus with someone who is headed to a Christ-less eternity in hell? May it not be so! Fearlessness can have a positive affect on others. May we be fearless!
Dear Father may I fearlessly share Jesus with someone(s) today in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu2S9y3r0XE
