LIFT YOUR EYES TO GOD!

Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!  For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?  Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!  Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.  Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. —Psalm 43

          Our only defense against ungodly people is our Lord God Almighty. He knows exactly what is going on and knows how to handle it.   Those who are deceitful and unjust do not go unnoticed by Him. He knows how to deliver His own. He alone is our refuge, but sometimes it seems He has rejected us as our prayers seem to go unanswered. Of course that is not the case, but it is our perception. This perception occurs when we are down and discouraged.   We have a sadness and mourning within us because of the enemies oppression.

          But, don’t stay there. We have His light and His truth which we can trust fully to lead us. Just spend time in His presence and joy will return and we will praise Him. Why be cast down and in turmoil when we know Him who is over all things and in control of all things? Don’t have an inward focus. Instead, have an upward focus. Lift your eyes to Him. Yes, as we put our hope in Him we will praise Him, knowing and focusing on our God of salvation. Brother and sister, focus on Him and not on the circumstances. Learn from the circumstances as you lean hard on Him!   Lift your eyes to Him— praise Him, be joyful as you rest in His light and truth!

Dear Father even when I am discouraged I am so glad that You are always there and I can always trust You. I do not need to stay discouraged as I have a right focus on You. So, regardless of what is happening in my life may I keep my eyes lifted to You, my God of salvation. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it! I so desire to be with You Lord Jesus in that perfect place where no conflict exists…mmmmmmm…
