THOSE APPOINTED TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVE

And from Perga, they traveled inland to Pisidian Antioch, where they entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and sat down.  After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue leaders sent word to them: “Brothers, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, please speak.” —Acts 13:14-15

This gave Paul the opportunity share what God did for the nation of Israel in Eqypt for 450 years, then the 40 years in the wilderness, through the period of the judge judges,  then the kings and finally focused on David whom Jesus’ lineage would come through.  Paul spoke of John’s baptism of repentance and how Pilate had no grounds for a death sentence but handed Him over to death anyway.  He went on to tell how God raised Jesus from the dead and that they were proclaiming this good news to them.  “Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.  Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.  Watch out, then, that what was spoken by the prophets does not happen to you: ‘Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish! For I am doing a work in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you’” (Acts 13:38-41).  Now grab hold of this important point that Paul make in the midst of this— “All who were appointed for eternal life believed” (Acts 13:48).  Get that?  “All who were appointed for eternal life believed.”

Paul did not know who was going to believe in that crowd, but God did.  Paul was called to preach the Word and those who were “appointed for eternal life believed.”  Do you and I understand this?  Let us be faithful in getting His gospel out to people and those who see this as good news, those who are appointed to eternal life will believe!  I did not make the appointment of those who would believe.  God does that!  I just need to give out the invitation and those who are appointed will receive it either presently or in the future!  Wow, that is exciting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiuw2QX4RpI

Brothers and sisters, this is why we must be sharing the good news with all those around us.  We do not know who is appointed.  It is through the sharing of the good news that we find out or plant seeds that will sprout later and someone else will find out.  Let us be faithful in this and not fearful.  Let us bring the good news and have beautiful feet in doing so.  Yes, may this be so!  Let us honor our King Jesus in this!

Dear Father I thank You that I can take part in sharing Your good news with those around me.  Oh, that may who are appointed to eternal life would respond within my view that I may rejoice along with the angels of heaven.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus Your Son.
