WITNESS
WITNESS
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. —Acts 1:8
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. —Acts 2:21
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. —Romans 10:13
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” —Romans 10:14-15
Wherever we are in this world the Lord Jesus said we would be His witnesses. A witness repeats what he has seen and heard (Luke 2:20; 7:22; John 3:32; Acts 4:20; 22:15; I John 1:1, 3; Revelation 22:8). Are you? People cannot call on Jesus until they believe in Jesus. People cannot believe in Jesus if they have not heard about Him. People will not hear about Him unless someone is preaching or proclaiming Him. People need to hear sent ones preaching or proclaiming Jesus and those preach or proclaim have “beautiful feet.” Do you have beautiful feet? We are sent ones (John 17:18).
His Holy Spirit empowers us to be His witnesses. This is so exciting to see how His Holy Spirit guides in witnessing. Have you seen Him at work lately as you have proclaimed Jesus? How? Can you give testimony as to how?
We are the message bearers. We bring God’s Word to people and it is God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6). Yes, He is the One that saves people and we are the ones who are to be faithful witnesses in that process. Am I? Are you?
Dear Father may I be a faithful witness for You and also be making disciples for Your honor and glory. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
