BE FLOURISHING IN PROCLAIMING OUR LORD

BE FLOURISHING IN PROCLAIMING OUR LORD

The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.  They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God.  They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. —Psalm 91:12-15

Are you flourishing?  To flourish is to grow and thrive, to increase and prosper, to be doing well.  Are you?  Think of a healthy tree that is really thriving.  Are you like that in your relationship with our Lord and in the work He has called you to? (Ephesians 2:10).  A flourishing apple tree would have branches bowed down with healthy apples.  What kind of fruit is your life producing?

How does one flourish anyway?  It happens when we are in the presence of our Lord, listening and learning from Him and then applying what He teaches us to everyday life (Isaiah 50:4).  As we do spend time with Him fruit will come from our life just as sap in a healthy tree will produce fruit.  Those who are continually in His presence will “still bear fruit in old age.”  This is because “they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright.”  Their lives are vibrant even in old age through the Spirit of God and love to proclaim that the Lord is upright, that He is their rock and that there is no unrighteousness in Him.  Does that describe you whether you are in old age or still in your youth?  Do you love to proclaim our Lord?

Dear Father please work in and through me vibrantly to have a positive impact in this age for Your honor and glory.  Yes, may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus my Lord.  So be it!
