GOD IS IN CONTROL!

GOD IS IN CONTROL!

Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?  Does a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out from his den, if he has taken nothing?  Does a bird fall in a snare on the earth, when there is no trap for it? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when it has taken nothing?  Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it? —Amos 3:3-6

Now here is something for us to think about! —Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?  How would you answer that question?  Wouldn’t you have to answer that question as you would all the previous questions in the context above?  Truly, God’s plans and purposes work through everything, including disasters.

If God is not Sovereign over all, is He Sovereign at all?  Surely, God is in control of all things.  Nothing is beyond His power and purposes “And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).  Our Sovereign Lord, “He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.  Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” (Revelation 21:5-7).  Yes, our Sovereign Lord is moving all things toward the completion of His purposes.  Take courage!  He is Sovereign over your life!

Dear Father I am so glad to know that You are Sovereign over all things— disasters and difficulties as well as the wonderfully good things of life.  May I faithfully walk through all these in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
