REST IN OUR PASSOVER LAMB
REST IN OUR PASSOVER LAMB
Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and told them, “Go at once and select for yourselves a lamb for each family, and slaughter the Passover lamb. Take a cluster of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin, and brush the top and the two sideposts of the doorframe with some of the blood. None of you shall go out the door of his house until morning. When the LORD passes through to strike down the Egyptians, He will see the blood on the top and the two sideposts and pass over the door; so He will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. —Exodus 12:21-23
Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. —Psalm 20:7
No man can possibly redeem his brother or pay his ransom to God. For the redemption of his soul is costly, and never can payment suffice, that he should live on forever and not see decay. —Psalm 49:7-9
For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. —I Corinthians 5:7
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot. He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for your sake. —I Peter 1:18-20
Astounding! The Israelites were told to “select for yourselves a lamb for each family, and slaughter the Passover lamb.” This is a beautiful picture of our Father selecting the perfect Lamb, Jesus, to be slaughtered as the final Passover Lamb for us. The Israelites were told to “brush the top and the two sideposts of the doorframe with some of the blood” and “When the LORD passes through to strike down the Egyptians, He will see the blood on the top and the two sideposts and pass over the door; so He will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.” The blood applied in obedience saved the first-born from judgment. So today “if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. It is just as the Scripture says: “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Greek: The same Lord is Lord of all, and gives richly to all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:9-13).
Beware of those who promote themselves and not the Lord Jesus— “Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips” (Proverbs 27:2). Beware of those who are condemning, self-righteous and don’t have a desire “to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). These type people the Apostle Paul said are like savage wolves that “will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number, men will rise up and distort the truth to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:29-30). “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord” (I Corinthians 1:30-31). “But, ‘Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.’ For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends” (II Corinthians 10:17-18). Yes, beware of those who promote themselves and not the Lord Jesus. They are easy to spot when measured by the Word of God.Dear Father, please give wisdom to know those who put on an appearance of knowing You, but do not line up with what You say. May this be done in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPClih1HLPg
