GO IMMEDIATELY!

GO IMMEDIATELY!

“Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land.”—Genesis 31:13

Jacob immediately responded, but he did not tell uncle Laban that he was leaving.  Later when Laban caught up with Jacob he said, “What have you done? You’ve deceived me, and you’ve carried off my daughters like captives in war. Why did you run off secretly and deceive me? Why didn’t you tell me, so I could send you away with joy and singing to the music of timbrels and harps? You didn’t even let me kiss my grandchildren and my daughters goodbye. You have done a foolish thing. I have the power to harm you; but last night the God of your father said to me, ‘Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.’ Now you have gone off because you longed to return to your father’s household. But why did you steal my gods?”   Jacob responded and said, “I was afraid, because I thought you would take your daughters away from me by force” (Genesis 31:26-31).  So Jacob was fearful of what Laban might do and so that is why he left unannounced.  Yet, even though Jacob might not have left properly, God still protected him.  How thankful we can be for God’s grace even when we might make poor decisions as we seek to obey Him.

So what if our Lord told us to immediately do something?  Would we obey without delay?  Is our Lord saying something to you, to me?  Does He want us to “go at once?”  Will you?  Will I?  May it be so.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8

Dear Father, may I immediately obey what You desire.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus.  So be it!
