HOLD FAST!
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. —Hebrews 10:23
Are you holding unswervingly to the hope you profess? You can because “He who has promised is faithful! You say, “Well, I am not feeling like that right now! I feel like throwing in the towel. I feel like giving up, giving in.” What is it that is making you “feel” that way? Remember… we are in spiritual warfare and there is an adversary that would love for you to call it quits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsQ58qn7G_4
Satan is a destroyer. How many times has he used “feelings” to destroy work relationships, business relationships, political relationships, church relationships, family relationships and even one’s relationship with self. Followers of Jesus— beware when these things happen or begin to happen. If unchecked these “feelings” can end up being very destructive. “Feelings” unchecked have not only ended relationships, but there are those whose unchecked “feelings” have led them to doubt, discouragement, disbelief, despair and death… Yes, unchecked negative “feelings” are a tool Satan loves to use to destroy. Be aware of his schemes (II Corinthians 2:11).
God is always faithful, always loving, always compassionate, always concerned, always working, always sovereign, always forwarding His plans and purposes. You can fully trust His promises even when the “feelings” may be telling you otherwise. Feelings are powerful. If allowed unchecked they can steer us. Instead of feelings being a part of our life, unchecked “feelings” can become our life. Dark “feelings” can make our life dark. We can start going down a slippery slope that is not healthy.
So stop… consider Him who is always faithful. Consider Him who has given us precious promises. Consider Him who can be fully trusted. Now, why are you feeling those feelings? Isn’t He big enough to help you? Of course He is! The question is… will you let Him? May you do so! Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Dear Father I am so grateful to know that You are always there. Regardless of the feelings I may feel, may I put You first and trust You for whatever comes my way. May I do this in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
