COVER OF DARKNESS

When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up, kills the poor and needy, and in the night steals forth like a thief. The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk; he thinks, ‘No eye will see me,’ and he keeps his face concealed. In the dark, thieves break into houses, but by day they shut themselves in; they want nothing to do with the light. Darkness has been used down through the ages for natural cover by criminals & the immoral to do their dastardly deeds. They think nobody can see them, but they are wrong. Our Sovereign and Almighty Lord sees all. Nothing escapes His eyes (Hebrews 4:13). He does see all and nobody is getting away with anything. They may think they are, but they are not. All will face Jesus one day —“For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. Brothers and sisters let us be faithful in our service to our King. He will set all things right in His time. We need to be persevering in shining His Light and to be doing what is right. May we be doing so!

Dear Father, may I be a faithful servant for You in this dark and wicked world. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
