ABANDON AND BE ABANDONED

This is what the Lord says, ‘You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you… —II Chronicles 12:5

God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts… —Romans 1:24

God gave them over to shameful lusts… —Romans 1:26

God gave them over to a depraved mind… —Romans 1:28

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. —I John 2:15-16

Prayer, Bible reading, the Ten Commandments or even the mention of His Name is not allowed in most public schools. Students are told not to mention Him in their graduation speeches and His Name is to be edited out. The governmental educational systems have largely abandoned our Lord God Almighty. What we have been seeing in our nation is the result of abandoning Him. He is abandoning us and giving us over to the sinful desires of our hearts, shameful lusts and depraved minds. We are reaping the fruit of our nation’s demonic choices.

In II Chronicles 12:5 above we see the results of abandoning the Lord. Yet in this case the leaders of Judah humbled themselves and avoided destruction and yet there were still consequences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW3LYX4qeyA We need to humble ourselves as a nation.

A nation that abandons the Lord will be abandoned. This is what we are seeing in our nation. Will it get better? How can it when the moorings are let go? President John Adams had said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” And so if there is not a humbling toward the Lord that takes place in our nation… there is no hope for it!

Dear Father, may You be pleased to bring about a humbling in our nation. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. Yes, may it be so.
