PARADISE!

PARADISE!

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” —Luke 23:43

People love to think about or try to find paradise on earth, but it will not be found. Even though there are many beautiful places on this planet they all pale when it comes to the heavenly paradise that awaits all who have called on the Name of the Lord Jesus. Paradise… you don’t get there by car, train, boat or plane… no, you can only get to paradise through Jesus. When a follower of Jesus dies they are immediately in paradise. This is what was told the thief on the cross who called on Jesus. He was told he would be with Jesus in paradise “today.” Let us not fear the death we will face sometime in the future. No, death is just a transition to paradise. The Apostle Paul said that he “would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord” (II Corinthians 5:8). Wouldn’t you “prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord?” So death is just a doorstep into home! Let us rejoice and “make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it” (II Corinthians 5:9). So be it!

Dear Father I thank You for my home in paradise. I can’t wait to get home to be with Jesus and all who love Him. But while I am here please work through me to encourage others home as well. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus. Yes, may this be so!
