WISDOM
Wisdom
So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours? The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. —I Kings 3:9-12
If you were in Solomon’s place when God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you,” what would you have asked for? Really, sincerely… what would you have asked for? Would you have asked for a wise and discerning heart? Or would you have asked for long life, health, wealth…?
If you are in a position of leading people do you ask our Lord for wisdom in how you are to “govern” them or do you just go by your own ideas? Why would we not go to Him who knows all things and asked Him to reveal to us His desires in all areas? Why would we not ask Him for His wisdom?
James tells us that “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). So, do you need wisdom? Of course you do! All followers of Jesus need wisdom. So, let us ask Him for it!
Dear Father please give me the wisdom I will need to go through this day with the people I come into contact with and the situations I face. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMnIVe4-QUY
