It is dangerous and destructive to hear God’s Word and not be obedient to Him. James 1:22 tells us it is self deception to hear God’s Word and not obey Him. But for the one who hears and obeys God’s Word, there is freedom and blessing (James 1:25). “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32). Blessing and freedom only comes through obedience to God’s Word. Dear Father, may I be faithful to what You are saying to me. I know You can be fully trusted and may I be obedient to You. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
