GOING IN JESUS’ AUTHORITY

GOING IN JESUS’ AUTHORITY

When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority… —Luke 9:1

And so Jesus has also given us His power and authority to be His witness (Acts 1:8). He told us that “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). We do not have to guess about what He desires us to do… He has already told us what He desires!

How am I growing as one of His disciples? In what ways am I involved in making disciples? Out of our relationship with Jesus this should be our focus… it was His! How am I involved in people’s lives? How will I seek to be involved in other people’s lives? Will I share the gospel with them? For those that respond will I seek to encourage them to grow in Jesus?

We have no authority in our own! But, Jesus has sent us in His authority! Will you and I be obedient to what He has called us to—- relationship with Him, witnesses for Him and making disciples as He commanded? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP_XATZQ8sU May we do so!

Dear Father, may I be faithful to go wherever You desire me to go and to speak to whoever You want me to speak to. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
