TRUST AND OBEY FOR WHAT WE KNOW TODAY

Avowed atheist Stephen Hawking recently died at age 76. He was called “science’s brightest star, renowned scientist, famed physicist, one of the brightest minds…” He has said, “I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail,” he told the Guardian. “There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.” http://time.com/5199149/stephen-hawking-death-god-atheist/ Hopefully he came to his senses before he died to escape Satan’s snare that was “holding him captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26).

Brothers and sisters let us rejoice that God has given us His Word and we are not in the dark. Those who do not have His Word are in the dark and it is up to us to bring the light of His Word to them. What they do with His Word is their responsibility, but we will all wind up in the same place Hawking did… we will all die and then we will face our Maker…

We have God’s Word. Let us trust Him fully and be obedient to His desires. Let us do so today, moment by moment. Then, tomorrow, let us do the same and continue to do so until we see Jesus. Dear Father, thank You for Your Word to keep us from walking in the dark. May we bring Your Word to those in the dark and may Your light shine in their hearts that they would come to understand who they are, who Jesus is and their need to repent and come to Him. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
