DON’T ADD OR TAKE AWAY FROM GOD’S WORD

DON’T ADD OR TAKE AWAY FROM GOD’S WORD

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. —Deuteronomy 4:2

Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. —Proverbs 30:6

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. —Revelation 22:18-19

Oh, to change God’s Word is such a serious affront to God. To say that God said something when He did not is a dangerous occupation. Or, to say that God did not say something is also serious. This is what Satan did right from the beginning when he said, “You will not certainly die” (Genesis 3:4). God had said in Genesis 2:17 that if they ate of the tree of good and evil that “you will certainly die.” Satan added just one word to change what God said. He just added “not.” See how adding one word can actually make God’s Word say the opposite from which He said. Just one word!

Brother and sister, we need to listen to what God says, apply what He says and only speak to others what He says. We are commanded not to take away from His Word or add to it. This is a dangerous thing to do. May we be faithful with His Word and also encourage others to be faithful as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYu8ZyETnKo

Dear Father, may I be true to Your Word by actions and speech. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
