THE CHOICE

THE CHOICE

He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. —Hebrews 10:25

There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated—the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith. —Hebrews 11:35-39

Let there be no mistake about it! There is pleasure in sin, but it is temporary and only a life-time at most. A life-time of sin is a short time compared to an eternity of judgment in Hell. As mentioned above, Joseph made the choice of being “mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.” Even if a person is mistreated for a life-time for loving Jesus it is only a blink of an eye compared to eternity in Heaven with Jesus and all who love Him!

Others, mentioned in the above verses also made the choice of living by faith and it cost them dearly. The world was not worthy of them and Heaven is now their home! Those faithful witnesses gave evidence of their faith-filled lives that should stir us on to also live faith-filled lives regardless of wherever the “race marked out for us” may lead us. May it be so! Oh yes, MAY IT BE SO! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8

Will you make that choice? Will you join the chorus of witnesses that made the choice of living by faith with the people of God instead of “enjoying the pleasures of sin” for such a temporary time. Oh, that we would life a faith-filled life for the glory of God. Oh, may it be so my Father in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son and my Lord, Jesus.
