For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. —Romans 6:14

As children of God we are not under sin as our master. We are no longer slaves to sin. Now we need to proclaim the Good News so others can also “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26). Satan is a cruel sin master holding people in chains, bound in sin. Let us go to them with the keys that can rescue them from their bondage.

The Law was given to show us our sin, but it did not have any power to save us from that sin— “Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come” (Galatians 3:19) and “what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit “(Romans 8:3-4). So “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21). This is grace! Let us rejoice in what God has done for us who have believed!

Dear Father, thank You for all that You have done, are doing and will do through Your Son, Jesus. May I live a faithful life for You in the power of Your Holy Spirit. Yes, may this be so!
