GET THE PROPER PERSPECTIVE
GET THE PROPER PERSPECTIVE
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills. —Psalm 73:2-5
Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure and have washed my hands in innocence. All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments. —Psalm 73:13-14
Have you ever thought these thoughts in the above verses? Have you ever pondered many of the wicked and how they prosper when we might be struggling financially? Have you ever considered wicked people and how they don’t seem to have any problems? They are healthy and strong when we might be having health problems and physical weaknesseses. They appear not to have any burdens while we do. Apparently they are not plagued with human ills, but we are. Have you ever thought like this? Have you ever said, “I have sought to live for God and yet I am afflicted and it seems every morning I have new punishments. What benefit is following Jesus?” We may think like this, wrong thinking, when we get our eyes off the Lord and His Word and look at the short term and not the Long term. I love what this video says and what a great application we have to following Christ. It is not a sprint, it is a marathon. It is not just for the short term, it is also for the long term. It is not to be just short-sighted, but to view also into the distance. So, let us know just look at the immediate! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1uijt3Ydqs
We need to saturate our minds with the Word of God and what God has to say instead of letting our puny minds run with wild and ridiculous thoughts. And this is what can happen when we are not in His Word. Our thinking will not be right, but when we are in His Word our thinking will be more correct. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIpnW3rtRQ4 So let us be in His Word, listening and applying to life what God says. That is what is important. Yes, may we do so.
Dear Father, thank You for giving us Your Word so we can think more correctly and not be skewed in our own thinking. I am so grateful that You have given us the Light of Your Word to give us proper perspective. May Your Holy Spirit enlighten my mind and may I apply what You say in the authority of Jesus. Yes, may it be so.
