This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel. —Ezra 7:10

“Then feed my lambs” —John 21:15

“Then take care of my sheep” —John 21:16

“Then feed my sheep” —John 21:17

Is this the determination of your heart and mine? How committed are you and I to the Word of God… to know it? To obey it? To teach it? Is this the desire of my heart and yours? May it be so!

Ezra wanted to know what God’s Word said. Then he wanted to obey God’s Word himself. But then he wanted to teach God’s Word to others. This clearly reminds me of the Great Commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. A disciple of Jesus is to understand His Word, obey His Word and share His Word with others. So… how are you doing in this commission that you have been given? May you and I be totally committed to hearing/reading/studying/understanding His Word, making application to our lives and teach others the same. Feed His lambs! Take care of His sheep! Feed His sheep! May it be so!

Dear Father, may I depend on the power of Your Holy Spirit to be and do what You desire. Oh, that I would know Your Word, apply Your Word to my own life and then share Your Word wherever and however You desire. May this be so in the authority of Jesus and for Your glory. So be it!
