MAY YOU SHOW FORTH HIS GLORY
MAY YOU SHOW FORTH HIS GLORY
Then people all over the earth will know that the Lord alone is God and there is no other. —I Kings 8:60
Solomon’s desire, and so many others, was for people to “know that the Lord alone is God and there is no other.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoGHog7Keak
And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD: “LORD, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth” (II Kings 19:15, 19).
“Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD– that you alone are the Most High over all the earth” (Psalm 83:18).
“For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God” (Psalm 86:10).
“LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth” (Isaiah 37:16, 20).
What about you and me? Is this truly our desire as well? If so, then how are people seeing in and through our lives and that of the local church we are part of “that the Lord alone is God and there is no other.” Indeed, how are we being salt and light in this decaying and dark world? How will we be today? Tomorrow? The rest of our lives?
Dear Father, oh, may Your glory be seen in and through me today. May Your glory also be seen through the local church I am part of. May Your glory be seen throughout this area as the church yields to the Head of the Church, Jesus. May this be so world-wide as the church yields to the power of Your Holy Spirit. May it be so!
