GOD IN HEAVEN AND EARTH
When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below. —Joshua 2:11

And so He is the Creator of all things. His creation reveals who He is because “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1-4). All people know this but the vast majority “suppress the truth by their wickedness” even though the truth of “God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:18-20). Denying His existence doesn’t deny His existence.
Praise the Lord God Almighty that He has, like Rahab, enabled us to see and understand that He “is God in heaven above and on the earth below.” He is the Sovereign over all the creation that He created. Yet look how small we are and the God of all Creation loves us and is concerned for us! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRiIWL04po8 We wouldn’t even know Him unless He revealed Himself to us— “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44). We know He exists because of creation, but we could not be in relationship with Him unless He initiated that possibility. “We love because he first loved us” (I John 4:19). Let us rejoice!
Dear Father, I am so grateful to know that You are the God of heaven and earth and that You sent Your Son, Jesus, that we might be saved from our sin to a relationship with You through Him. Oh, may I rejoice in this and be a faithful servant of Yours in the authority of Jesus and in the power of Your Holy Spirit.
