GOING IN JESUS’ AUTHORITY
GOING IN JESUS’ AUTHORITY
When Jesus returned to the Temple and began teaching, the leading priests and elders came up to him. They demanded, “By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?” —Matthew 21:23
“I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him” (John 5:43). Jesus came in His Father’s authority and just as the Father sent Jesus so Jesus sends us in His authority (John 17:18; 20:21). “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).
Fellow follower of Jesus, you and I have been appointed by the King of all creation to make disciples. We do not go in our own authority and power to make disciples. No, we go in Jesus’ authority and power! Now let us proclaim the name of Jesus wherever we go and make disciples! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D55rV97nqwg
Dear Father, I am grateful to know that I am not going in my authority when I serve You, but in the authority of Jesus my Lord. Be please to work through me to make disciples in the power of Your Holy Spirit.
