I am the Lord who heals you. —Exodus 15:26

Large crowds followed him there, and he healed their sick. —Matthew 19:2

Then he said, “You will undoubtedly quote me this proverb: ‘Physician, heal yourself’–meaning, ‘Do miracles here in your hometown like those you did in Capernaum’ (Luke 4:23). Jesus is the Great Physician. He can heal anything, anytime, anywhere and whenever He desires to for His purposes.

But let us not forget that the greatest “healing” will come after we die! “Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth”’ (Revelation 21:10). Wow, talk about healing. The whole of creation is going to be healed! We are told that “what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us” (Romans 8:18-23).

Whether the Lord heals us today from a temporary disease or not, one thing we can be absolutely certain of is that a complete healing is ahead of us. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4). That my friend is the total and eternal healing I am looking forward to! Rejoice in the amazing life we have now and the astounding life we have in glory! New eternal, perfect bodies ahead!

Dear Father, I truly want to be where Jesus is in that place He is preparing for me. Oh, how I desire to be there with Him and with all who love Him. Thank You for this incredible eternal glory set before me. Be pleased to work through me to encourage others to trust the Lord Jesus and join in this wonderful plan You have for us!
